A six month term with no due dates in it feels generous in month one and month two. It feels the same in month three, which is the trouble, because feeling has replaced the information other schools provide for free. There is no falling average to notice and no missed window to alarm you.
Meanwhile the two things that do move are invisible from the inside. Calendar is being spent at a steady rate, and the tasks still standing between you and the end of the term are not getting smaller by themselves. Students find the mismatch late, often in a mentor call in month five, when the only option left is a very hard six weeks.
02So the first thing built is an instrument
Before any writing happens, a tender turns your term into four numbers you can check in a minute, then keeps them current. It is deliberately crude, since a plan you will look at beats an elaborate one you will not.
Those four numbers are the whole of it, and looking at them once a week is enough.
- How many competency units you must clear this term, and how many you have cleared so far.
- The date each remaining task has to be submitted by, which is much earlier than the date it has to be cleared by.
- How long your evaluator has actually been taking, measured rather than assumed, because that number changes as a term goes on.
- What is left over if today's pace continues, stated as a number of tasks rather than as a feeling about the term.
03Work coming back is the design, not a failure
A returned performance assessment is normal here, and treating it as a setback wastes the useful thing about it. Evaluators read against a written list and mark each requirement as met or not met, so a return usually means one requirement was answered somewhere the reader was not looking rather than that the work was poor.
What it costs is days, and days are the only currency a term has. The plan therefore assumes one return on every substantial task and places the submission date early enough to absorb it. An objective assessment is different in kind: that one is a proctored sitting, prepared for through exam prep and taken by you alone.
04How a tender works inside all that
The written tasks are drafted with you and returned for your read, in the order the requirement list is written rather than in the order an essay would naturally flow, because that is how they are read. You remain free to submit whenever you like; the value is that the spacing was decided once, in advance, rather than renegotiated every week.
My performance assessment came back for the second time. Is that charged again?
No. Rework on a piece a tender wrote sits inside the fee you already paid, whatever number of rounds it takes. The real price of a return is calendar, which is why every requirement gets checked against the written list before submission rather than after an evaluator has gone looking and found the gap.
Can a tender sit an objective assessment for me?
No, and nobody here will pretend otherwise. Those sittings are invigilated and belong to you completely, as does anything measuring your own judgement. What can be bought is preparation: a study plan weighted by what the assessment actually covers, timed practice, and review of the answers you got wrong until the pattern is obvious.
I am five weeks from the end of a term and well short. What are the options?
Three, and the arithmetic decides which. Push hard on the tasks that can still clear in the days remaining. Accept the term will not close and plan the next from a known position. Or ask your mentor what carries over. Buying help for a term already lost is the one option we argue against.
How is this priced when the work has no fixed length?
By the task rather than by the week, since that is the unit the university itself uses. One written task is quoted from its requirement list; a whole term is quoted on the units you need to clear. Doctoral work costs more because it runs across months, and a quote takes two hours.
