Almost everything graded in this subject is a variation on the same movement: here is a body of evidence, here is what it supports, here is what it does not. What changes across a program is the number of studies involved and how much weight rests on the conclusion.
The same act, in the order a program usually asks for it.
- The article critique. One study, its design, its sample, and the claim it can honestly carry.
- The annotated bibliography. Ten studies, each reduced to what it adds and what it leaves open.
- The literature review. Those same ten arranged by argument rather than by author, which is the step most people skip.
- The case conceptualisation. Evidence applied to one person, with a theory named and a plan following from it.
- The research proposal. Your own study, justified by the gap the review found, with a method that could survive a review board.
02Which weeks are worth buying, and which are not
Because the act repeats, the early small pieces are the cheapest place to learn it and the most expensive place to skip it. A critique bought in week two is a skill unlearned by week twelve, when the identical reasoning is worth ten times the marks.
What is worth handing over is volume: the reading-heavy weeks, the bibliography with twenty entries, the pieces landing in a fortnight your life had other plans for. That sorting happens before anything is priced and often shortens the list. Single heavy pieces sit under essays and assignments, and a whole term under full class support.
03Where the marks actually go
Rarely on the writing. They go on the distance between what a study found and what a student says it proved, which markers in this field are trained to spot and score hard.
A correlation reported as a cause. A finding from undergraduates in one country described as human nature. An effect present only in a subgroup, quoted as though it held throughout. A source cited from its abstract because the paper itself sat behind a paywall. Every claim in work from this desk is tied to what its source genuinely reported, in the citation style your program names, and each limitation gets its own sentence rather than being left out.
04Practicum, clinical courses, and the line
Counselling and clinical programs run a second half nobody can touch. Supervised hours belong to the student on the placement, and the site is arranged through placement work a season before those hours start. Recordings, live supervision and anything a supervisor grades for your own judgement stay entirely yours.
The same holds for reflective work and any examination sat under supervision. No credentials are requested at any point, nothing is filed for you, and where a course consists mostly of those you are told there is little here worth buying. Research methods and statistics are a separate matter and often the real trouble, which is why they have a desk of their own.

Which psychology courses come up most?
Research methods, statistics, developmental, abnormal, cognition, social psychology, theories of personality, ethics, and the assessment courses inside counselling programs. Doctoral work is common as well. Tenders here hold psychology doctorates and have marked this kind of writing, which matters more in this subject than in most because the errors are subtle.
Can you write a case conceptualisation?
Where it is a teaching case supplied by the course, yes: theory named, evidence applied, plan justified, in your program's format. Where it concerns a real client you are seeing on placement, no. That is your clinical judgement under assessment, it is confidential, and nobody outside the room should be writing it.
How do you keep a literature review from reading like a list?
By organising it around arguments rather than authors. Studies agreeing on a point are grouped and the point is stated first; studies disagreeing are set against each other and the reason is named. That structure comes from a matrix built before drafting, which is also what makes the gap at the end visible.
Does APA formatting really cost that many marks?
More than students expect, because it is the easiest thing on a rubric to verify quickly. Headings at the right level, citations matching the reference list exactly, tables and figures labelled properly. It is worth almost nothing intellectually and gets scored anyway, so work here comes formatted to the edition your program names.
Is any of this visible to my program?
No. Since the practice opened in 2009, no message has travelled from here to a faculty member, a department or a placement site, and the tender assigned to you is the only person with sight of your file. Nobody appears in a published review under more than initials. A card statement carries a business name and no description of what was bought.
